This aquatint with etching was printed in black ink on handmade wove paper. There is a significant loss in the top left corner with numerous small losses and tears, concentrated along the right edge.
This treatment was carried out at home during the COVID-19 pandemic under the approval and supervision of Joan Irving. The print underwent bathing in calcium-enriched, filtered tap water to reduce overall discoloration and prepare it for pulp filling. Losses were filled using wet pulp filling, with Tek Wipe and Mylar serving as substitutes for a suction table. Stonehenge paper (100% cotton) was used for the pulp fills, which were minimally toned with dry pigments after drying.
Some cockling was observed after the print dried, likely due to the limited availability of dry felts and blotters during the drying process.
